Class 2 Truck
What can I drive?

The Class 2 licence course covers a Heavy Rigid Vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of between 6,000kg to 18,000 kg or combination vehicle Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of between 6,000 kg to 12,000 kg.

What will I need?

A licence medical.

Course Outline

Duration; 2 days of theory and training and assessment in a class 2 vehicle. The course will cover the following:

Learner Licence study (c2)

Obtain your learner licence

Logbook study and assessment (Unit Standard 24089)

Class 2 theory study and assessment (Unit Standard 17574)

Practical training in a class 2 vehicle

Practical Assessment

We  supply the vehicle for the practical or you can supply it providing it meets the required standard.

On successful completion of our training programme you will be issued with a full class 2 licence certificate, which you will need to take to a testing agent and have your licence upgraded with no further practical driving test required.

 


Class 4 Truck
What can I drive?

The Class4 licence course covers a Heavy Rigid Vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of more than 18,000 kg with 3 axles or more .

What will I need?

Proof that you hold Unit Standard 24089 (Logbooks). If you have not completed unit 24089 the course duration will be 1 day.

Your class 4 learners licence

Course Duration, assuming you have completed a logbook course with your c2 licence.

1 hour of theory training/assessment followed by up to 1 hour of training and assessment in a class 4 vehicle.

Course includes:

  1. Class4 theory (Unit Standard 17576)
  2. Practical training
  3. Assessment

We supply the vehicle for the practical or you can supply it providing it meets the required standard.

On successful completion of our training programme you will be issued with a full c4 certificate, which you will need to take to a testing agent and have your licence upgraded with no further practical driving test required.

 


Class 5 Truck and Trailer
What can I drive?

A Class 5 licence allows you to drive a Heavy Combination Vehicle with a Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of more than 25,000 kg.

What will I need?

Proof that you hold Unit Standard 24089 (Logbooks). If you have not completed unit 24089 the course duration will be 1 and a half days.

Your class 5 learners licence

Course Duration

Providing you have evidence that you have successfully achieved unit standard 24089 (logbooks):

3-4 hours of theory training and assessment
Up to 3 hours of practical training and assessment of unit standard 17577

Course includes:

  1. Class 5 theory training and assessment (Unit Standard 17577)
  2. Practical training
  3. Assessment

We supply the vehicle for the practical or you can supply it providing it meets the required standard.

On successful completion of our training programme you will be issued with a certificate, which you will need to take to a testing agent and have your licence upgraded with no further practical driving test required.
